Certificate III in Aquatics and Community Recreation
The Certificate III in Aquatics and Community Recreation qualification provides an individual with the skills and knowledge to become competent in a range of activities and functions within an aquatic setting. Candidates undertake training in a variety of modules relevant to the aquatic and recreation industry. All learners complete first aid, pool lifeguard and customer service training. Qualification outcomes will then depend on the specialisation chosen – swim teacher or pool lifeguard.
The Certificate III in Aquatics and Community Recreation provides the jobseeker with a full qualification to begin a rewarding career in the aquatic and recreation industry. The qualification is also relevant for existing workers aspiring to further their career. It is recommended that to successfully complete the qualification participants must have satisfactory underpinning literacy, language and numeracy skills. A moderate swimming ability is also required.
From January 2015 it has been a requirement that all learners in Australia have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). A learner’s USI will enable all training records and results to be collected in an online system. By having a USI, learners will be able to access their training records regardless of which provider the training was completed through. Visit the USI website for further information.
